The People’s Republic China remains the second largest and most dynamic economy in the world after the United States. China is the second largest buyer of German goods after the USA. The restructuring of the economy towards more innovation and services opens up numerous opportunities for German companies. In 2014 Chinese private households spent 4.8 trillion USD according to data from Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI). Growing competition with Chinese companies makes it more difficult for foreign companies to compete in the Chinese market, however foreign goods still have an advantage of perceived quality.
At the lecture, experts will give you a broad overview of the trends, opportunities and risks for German companies in the Chinese market at the foreign trade day of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Außenwirtschaftstag). The focus of the lectures will be on the following topics:
– Current economic situation
– Selling into China
– Current legal developments in China
– Certification requirements in China
– China’s customs and import law
The program and how to register can be found at the following website:

The “Middle Hessian Foreign Trade Day: China in Focus” will take place on November 24, 2016 from 10 am to 4 pm at Lonystrasse 7 in Giessen, Germany.
A consultant of MPR China Certification GmbH will give a lecture on the subject of certification regulations in China and with a focus on CCC certification. Since 2005, we have been supporting companies throughout the entire certification process in various areas such as:
– Electronics
– Automotive: Complete vehicle and vehicle components
– IT products
– Toys
– Machinery and plant engineering

As we previously wrote about in our news section CCC Certification for child safety seats in motor vehicles is mandatory. All forms of child restraint systems and child seats including integrated child seats used in the automobile are required to have CCC certification since September 1, 2014.
There have been many initial problems in getting the certification for these seats. The CCAP is constantly working to harmonize and improve the interpretations of the implementation rules. Many processes, which are named in the current CNCA standard can be easily misinterpreted.
In an effort to clarify these issues a meeting was held from August 24-25, 2016 in China and the problems were addressed. The discussions also covered the extension process, change process and the COP control plan. A further update regarding new requirements concerning the certification of children’s seats in motor vehicles is to be expected.
Child seats, child restraint systems and integrated child seats must have a valid CCC certification in accordance with the corresponding Implementation Rules which are issued by the CQC (China Quality Certification Centre) or the CCAP (China Certification Centre for Automotive Products). More information regarding the CCC certification process for Child Restraint Systems can be found in the corresponding implementation rule, which was issued in May of 2014 and has been in effect since September 1, 2014.
Are you a manufacturer of child safety seats and need a CCC certification for your products? Are you interested in learning more about the new Implementation Rules? Please call us, to get a copy of our presentation with more details regarding CCC for child safety seats.

As we previously announced the China Certification Center for Automotive Products (CCAP), and MPR China Certification GmbH shared a booth at the International Suppliers Fair (IZB) in Wolfsburg, Germany. Just prior to the IZB show CCAP opened its first branch (outside of China) in Germany. You can read here about the opening of the CCAP office on the premises of MPR China Certification GmbH.
From October 18 – 20 2016 show attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the latest innovations and trends in the automotive sector. Approximately 780 exhibitors from 32 countries were at IZB to present their products and services. This year IBZ’s theme was “Digitalization of Mobility,” with 30 plus exhibitors showcasing this theme.
The CCAP was represented at the exhibition by Mr. Ma Lin, the Director of the CCAP’s International Department. Julian Busch and Christoph Graffius, the managing directors of MPR China Certification GmbH, represented the MPR China Certification GmbH. The focus of the fair was the discussion of the challenges and opportunities of the CCC certification with the attendees and exhibitors alike.
Several consultants from the MPR China Certification GmbH were also present at the shared booth, advising visitors on the subject of CCC. In addition to personal meetings with existing customers, many new relationships were established. On-site questions were clarified and joint strategies for upcoming certification projects were developed.

Safety belts are given the same high priority in China as they are in Europe or the US. The understanding of what constitutes a seatbelt, the requirements that are placed on it, and how to verify those are also similar to the European standards. In general, four different types are distinguished in the GB standard 14166-2013; The lap belt, oblique shoulder strap, three-point belt and the harness strap. According to GB standard, a safety belt is defined as follows:
“An arrangement of straps with a securing buckle, adjusting devices and attachments which is capable of being anchored to the interior of a power-driven vehicle and is designed to diminish the risk of injury to its wearer, in the event of collision […]“
With regard to China CCC certification, the flammability of the belt itself and the safety of the belt retractor, play an important role. While the flammability is tested according to GB 8410-2006 as for other interior components, GB 14166-2013 is decisive for testing the remaining components. It includes the following aspects:
• Corrosion test
• Micro-slip test
• Conditioning of the strap (behavior under impact of Humidity, temperature, UV light, abrasion)
• Tensile strength
• Numerous static tests on the strap and the assembly
• Buckle-opening tests
Furthermore, the correct materials must be used. For example, the use of PA6 is generally prohibited.
With the support of MPR China Certification GmbH and China Certification Corporation, many manufacturer have successfully mastered the “CCC certification” hurdle, including the market leaders in the field of safety belts for motor vehicles. On October 1, 2016 the People`s Republic of China celebrated its 67th “National Day” which marks the start of “Golden Week.” In celebration of “Golden Week” there is an official 7-day holiday/vacation for all workers. From October 1-7, 2016 almost all businesses, including all of the Chinese authorities are closed. This closure will affect all on-going registrations and certifications and delaying them by a few days or more. On Saturday, October 8, 2016 most of the Chinese authorities and businesses will be back for work.
The Chinese “Spring Festival” at the end of January or beginning of February and the “Golden Week” celebration every October are the times when most Chinese workers take their vacation and travel for longer than just a couple of days. Typically, individual time for vacation is very limited. According to media reports Chinese tourism in mainland China and abroad is increasing every year. During these holiday times, it is not recommended for foreign tourists to travel in China since popular tourist sites, roads and trains are heavily overcrowded
MPR China Certification GmbH as well as the China Certification Corporation will continue business as usual during this time in an effort to reduce delays for their customer as much as possible.
In coordination with our subsidiaries located in the USA, Europe and China (Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou), we gladly support you with your CCC China certification processes. Our experience and approach to CCC certification make the entire process simple and painless for our clients.
