New Standards and Update in China for Powertrains

March 2023At the end of 2022 the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration (State Standardization Administration Committee) published new GB standards and new revisions of existing standards. A total of 544 recommended national standards and 4 revision lists of national standards were approved and announced. These are relevant for CCC certification as well as voluntary CQC certification and voluntary CCAP certification.
Among the new publications are 4 new standards relevant to powertrains.
GB/T 42284.1-2022 | “Road vehicles – Environmental conditions and tests for electrical and electronic equipment of powertrains for electric vehicles – Part 1: General requirements”. |
GB/T 42284.3-2022 | “Road vehicles – Environmental conditions and tests for electrical and electronic equipment of propulsion systems for vehicles with electric drive – Part 3: Mechanical loads”. |
GB/T 42284.4-2022 | “Road vehicles – Environmental conditions and tests for electrical and electronic equipment of powertrains for electrically propelled vehicles – Part 4: Climatic loads”. |
GB/T 42284.5-2022 | “Road vehicles – Environmental conditions and tests for electrical and electronic equipment of powertrains of electrically driven vehicles – Part 5: Chemical exposure”. |
These new standards will come into force on July 1, 2023.
In addition, a new revision of GB/T 29307-2012 “Test methods for the reliability of electric vehicle propulsion motor systems” was also approved to take effect on July 1, 2023 and is part of GB/T18488.1/.2.
