“China in Focus” Lecture at IHK Außenwirtschaftstag – November 24, 2016 in Giessen, Germany
28. October 2016The People’s Republic China remains the second largest and most dynamic economy in the world after the United States. China is the second largest buyer of German goods after the USA. The restructuring of the economy towards more innovation and services opens up numerous opportunities for German companies. In 2014 Chinese private households spent 4.8 trillion USD according to data from Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI). Growing competition with Chinese companies makes it more difficult for foreign companies to compete in the Chinese market, however foreign goods still have an advantage of perceived quality.
At the lecture, experts will give you a broad overview of the trends, opportunities and risks for German companies in the Chinese market at the foreign trade day of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Außenwirtschaftstag). The focus of the lectures will be on the following topics:
– Current economic situation
– Selling into China
– Current legal developments in China
– Certification requirements in China
– China’s customs and import law
