CCC: Interior Trimming Parts of Electric Vehicles
20. September 2016In our news section, we have recently informed you about the fact that the sales of electric cars in China have been increasing since summer of 2015. One possible reason for this increase could be the realization of the current air quality conditions and an increased awareness of environmental concerns. Due to the growing demand, China is now regarded as the leading market for electric vehicles.
There is a trend in China to buy electric vehicles from western premium car manufacturers. Currently electric vehicles produced by the joint venture of Volkswagen and Chinese automobile manufacturer Anhui Jianghuai Automobile (JAC), along with BMW’s “i-Series” vehicles are building in popularity.
As with other vehicles imported into China, electric vehicles are required to have CCC certification for interior trim materials. The Implementation Rules for Interior Trimming materials require CCC certification for all trimming materials with minimum dimensions of 356mm x 100mm which are installed in driver/passenger compartment and luggage compartment. Parts located in the engine/motor compartment are only CCC-relevant if they have a heat-isolating function.
Beside the GB Standard GB 8410-2006 is valid, which regulate the flammability.
According to the most recent status, all interior trimming parts with minimum size 356mm x 100mm are subject to mandatory CCC certification. Some examples of currently included products are:
- Sun Visors
- sound insulating material (e.g. acoustic tiles)
- Headliner
- Sun Shade
- Instrument Panel
- Center Console
- Air Ducts and Cable Channels
