CCC: Household Devices with USB Charging Port Must be in Accordance with CCC regulation
1. March 2016According to the announcement No. 2 of the CNCA (Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China) from January 6, 2016, household devices with USB charging port are required to be in accordance with the current CCC regulations:
- IT and AV equipment that have a USB charging port (including charge and discharge) are already required to have CCC certification as mandated by the compulsory CCC product list.
- Multi-functional household devices (e.g. lighting, plugs and sockets) which have a USB charging port will need be incompliance with the Implementation Rules for both “Household and Similar Use Devises” and “IT or AV Products according to the announcement.
- Manufacturers will have until December 31, 2016 to get CCC certification for these household products in compliance with both Implementation Rules. Existing multifunctional products that have a USB port and are certified to the Implementation Rules for compulsory certification of “Household and Similar Use Devises,” will now need to also comply with the Implementation Rules for “IT or AV Products.” Starting January 1, 2017 these products that are not certified in compliance with both Implementation Rules cannot be imported, bought, sold, used or traded in China.
