AQSIQ: Article About Exporting Recycling Material to China Published in the Journal “RECYCLING magazin”
14. January 2015The article deals with the Chinese AQSIQ approval requirement for foreign companies who want to export recycling material into China. It also mentions the SEPA license that the Chinese importers of recycling materials need to obtain to bring these materials in.
The Beijing based Chinese authority AQSIQ (“General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine,” in Chinese: 国家质量监督检验检疫总局) is responsible for the issuing and administration of the “License of Registration for Overseas Supplier Enterprise of Imported Solid Wastes as Raw Materials”. This institution is the highest of all certification authorities in China and all other executive bodies (e.g. CQC, CCAP, CCIC) fall under the AQSIQ.
In the article Mr. Busch explains the process involved and the complexities of the registration process. He also discussed the estimated 500 AQSIQ licenses (estimated by the Bureau of International Recycling) that will be expiring by the end of 2014 and the deadlines to apply for prolongation of an AQSIQ registration.
