Announcement No 13 on 708 New Standards
8. December 2022In Announcement No 13 of 2022, the Government of the People’s Republic of China announces the publication of 708 national GB standards (known as guobiao, or GB’s) and revised national standards. These newly enacted standards cover a wide range of areas.
Among these areas are:
- tightening in the area of explosion-proof products
- tightening in the area of fire hazards for electrical products
- tightening in the area of food safety related to current efforts to improve documentation and quality of imported food products
- in the automotive sector, improved testing procedures for the energy consumption and range of electric vehicles and information security technology and security requirements for data processing in the automotive industry.
Products must undergo product tests in the course of CCC certification, for which GB standards form the basis. CCC certification is necessary for a product, if it can be assigned to any of the product groups previously defined by P.R. China for certification and if there are corresponding GB standards.
